DAY

01

ARRIVE IN KIGALI

Upon arrival at Kigali airport a driver will be waiting for you to transfer you to the Retreat by Heaven in Kigali for check in and to settle in.
On arrival you will be awarded a complimentary 30 minute welcome massage per person (subject to availability). Ypu can choose to spend the day at leisure or to take part in a 30 minute on-site cultural activity (cocktail making/banana winemaking demonstration / local culinary demonstration or neighborhood walk – subject to availability – pre-booking required) at The Retreat by Heaven.

KIGALI

Enjoy a full day tour of Kigali city after breakfast. You will be met by your driver guide and embark on a full-day tour led by a local to easily locate the city’s top attractions and hidden gems, such as Gahanga’s local market, a modern shoemaker, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Save time navigating with included hotel pickup and drop-off, and enjoy a relaxed small-group excursion with lunch and refreshment included in the price. Gain a comprehensive overview of Kigali’s center and suburbs in one day Benefit from the insider knowledge of your local guide.

AKAGERA

Enjoy breakfast at The Retreat by Heaven, before your road transfer to Magashi.
Magashi’s home is 6 000 exclusive-use hectares of Akagera National Park, like Rwanda itself, a miraculous story of survival and regeneration. Located in the country’s north-east, Akagera was devastated by the 1994 genocide and its aftermath, with a rise in poaching and returnees settling with their cattle on park land. Over the last ten years, the park has been significantly rehabilitated and today offers one of the most thrilling safari experiences in Africa.

After breakfast in camp, depart by road for Nyungwe National Park. Overnight One&Only Nyungwe House. This morning, depart early in time for your Chimpanzee trekking experience followed by a scenic canopy walkway excursion.

Enjoy breakfast in camp, depart for Volcanoes National Park.
